James Hartnett

James Hartnett's intricate musical depth is the culmination of over two decades of playing, writing, producing and performing. His DJ sets are a precise balance of what the audience thinks they want, and what they don't yet know they need. Blending deep bass lines, driving rhythms, emotional melodies, and the textures of minimal house and techno, James creates a bouncy groove that is all his own.
In the past five years James has had great success as an Audio Engineer in New York, working with the worlds biggest names in dance music, pop and hip hop, and world renowned companies such as Boiler Room, The Brooklyn Mirage and the infamous Quad Studios. While he is equally skilled as a DJ, producer and engineer, it is clear that James is a musician first. His original songs showcase his deep understanding of musical theory through their interesting harmonies and dynamic arrangements which fill the dance floor every time they're heard.
Original works of his have been published by labels including: Hotboi Records, Audiophile XXL and OKNF Collective. With forthcoming releases on Audiophile Deep, Audiophile Records, SOUP, and Eukaryota this fall, James will be showcasing his eclectic creations. His debut release, Freak That, under his previous alias (Yerboi) topped the Juno Download Tech House Chart at #1. He has graced the decks in some of the best clubs NYC has to offer such as the world famous Output, and has brought his talents to Montreal, Chicago, Colorado, and Burning Man.
James is the kind of person who loves you from the first hello, or the first track he spins, eager to share something special with you. If you don't already, you will know him by the infectious energy in his sound, the smile on his face, and the movement in your hips.
